Who is Chad?

No one really. Just an average guy with an average education, but a thirst for knowledge, a hunger for God, and a little trouble sleeping that gives me time to write. I never intended to write a substack. I marveled at those who do, but never saw myself among them. One fateful day, I commented on someone else’s substack and mentioned something I had written about a class I attended. The original commenter encouraged me to post it on my substack and link it. As often happens with me, something small snowballs into something larger, and here I am - putting my thoughts out for others to read.

I don’t expect to be the best writer you’ll read on substack. I don’t expect to be the smartest. I hope only to impart some little bit of knowledge, but more so, to inspire you to think. Think about life. Think about what you’ve been taught. Think about what is going on around you. Think about what you see in the news. Don’t just hear - listen; reason; think.

When I was young and in school, I was taught to think. Yes, we learned facts, but we also learned to reason. It seems schools departed from this path long ago, and children now are taught simply to regurgitate anything with which they are inculcated. Critical thinking is a lost art that must be rediscovered. This is why I write.

I have no expectation of becoming famous. I have no expectation of reaching millions. I just want to reach those whom I may and to instill a new curiosity, a new desire for understanding, a new drive to find truth in a world that no longer values objectivity.

That is, as they say, the long and the short of it. I pray what you read here encourages you, edifies you, intrigues you, and perhaps, at times, amuses you.

Enjoy!
