It is that time of year when we gather together to give thanks. I have a lot for which to be thankful. Many are, but do you consider toward what or whom your thanks is directed?
Many may well-enough give thanks, but it is simply into thin air? Is gratefulness an abstraction, or is there an object of our gratitude?
I thank the Lord God Almighty, without Whose grace and mercy I would not be here (there are many stories behind that statement, some of which perhaps I’ll share at a later date). It is to Him I give thanks, for my life, my family, my friends. It is to Him I give thanks, for all that He provides, for all I am and have. It is to Him I give thanks, for you - my readers - without whom my writing on substack would be little more than an electronic journal.
I pray you too will take time to give thanks, not just to one another, but to the God who created all, whom our founding fathers acknowledged in the documents they penned to establish this great country and to whom they gave thanks.
I am going to take a few days break this week, but I will be back with new musings next week. Until then, I wish you all a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving!
May you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!!!
Have a great thanksgiving brother! May the Lord watch over you and your family.
