Ok, I know I said I was taking a break, but when I saw this, I had to say something. So, if you will, indulge my little rant.
On November 21, 2023, the White House released a statement from Vice President Kamala Harris regarding the hostilities between Israel and Hamas. The statement is fairly short, so I am quoting it in its entirety:
Today, thanks to the leadership of President Biden and other leaders, an agreement has been reached that will lead to the release of dozens of hostages who were taken in brutal acts of terrorism by Hamas on October 7. Doug and I pray for the well-being of all the hostages and are grateful some will soon be reunited with their loved ones.
I welcome the commitment that Israel has made to support an extended pause to ensure this deal can be fully carried out and to ensure additional humanitarian assistance reaches civilians in Gaza. The flow of aid must substantially increase and civilians must be protected. We also call on Hamas to release all the remaining hostages.
President Biden and I have no higher priority than the safety of Americans, and we welcome that today’s agreement means some Americans should be coming home. As I have told families of Americans held hostage: as they advocate for the release of their loved ones, they are not alone. We will not waver in our commitment to these Americans.
The first thing any person with minimal cognitive capability will recognize is that this was not likely penned by the VP - it is far too lucid and coherent. It is not the typical hard-to-chew word salad we receive from Harris; it is dressed up nice and neat to make it go down easier.
Second thing to notice is the claim of Joe Biden’s “leadership.” Thus we must ask, precisely what leadership has President Biden exhibited in relation to the Middle East situation (or any situation for that matter)? Sending money to Iran that got funneled to Hamas so they could attack Israel? Making a couple of statements indicating the U.S. supports Israel in protecting itself? Sending $100M to Gaza for “humanitarian aid” that we know will never reach civilians, but will be (or has been) used to further attack Israel? What, exactly, has Biden done to bring about any agreement between Israel and Hamas? Calling for Israel to act like a democracy and “live by the rule of law,” because, according to Biden, “when conflicts flare, you live by the ru- — law of wars”? (https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2023/10/18/remarks-by-president-biden-on-the-october-7th-terrorist-attacks-and-the-resilience-of-the-state-of-israel-and-its-people-tel-aviv-israel/) So again, I ask, what leadership? Does anyone believe that addled old Joe could broker a deal between anyone? C’mon man!
Third, Biden did not negotiate a renewed cease fire (if you were unaware, Israel and Hamas were under a cease fire until Hamas attacked on October 7). Likewise, I’m sure he had little, if anything, to do with Hamas agreeing to release hostages. Without being a fly on the wall during any conversations, we can only infer (from what media says, which we know cannot be trusted) that somehow Israel and Hamas have come to an understanding. Considering Hamas’ penchant for “from the river to the sea,” I would deduce that Israel offered the first concessions. Thankfully, whatever concessions have been made by either side, there is a prospect of hostages being returned to their families, hopefully unharmed.
Fourth, we need to “ensure additional humanitarian assistance reaches civilians in Gaza”? Is that even possible? There are memes circulating about the Palestinians running out of food and fuel, but Hamas still has rockets. Do you really think any aid sent will reach the civilians Hamas regularly uses as shields? Perhaps Biden and Harris’ combine believe it can; I don’t expect most thinking Americans share their hope. Any aid sent to Gaza is intercepted by Hamas, and the chance that they would give it to those they already tyrannize is very slim (they already withhold aid from their own people).
The real kicker, however, is perhaps the most egregious of lies: “President Biden and I have no higher priority than the safety of Americans.” Their mendacity knows no bounds! Does anyone believe Biden or Harris give one whit about Americans’ safety? How many were left in Afghanistan when we withdrew? Why haven’t they stopped all the criminals (yes, many of them are criminals) coming across our southern border who are regularly responsible for harm to Americans? Why do they not only allow but encourage riots that cost billions in damages and often result in lost American lives? Or perhaps it’s Americans they are evacuating from Israel about whom they care? I suppose that is shown in the promissory note vowing to repay the cost of evacuation they are required to sign in order to board a flight? If you’re a foreigner and in distress, the U.S. government is more than happy to give you money. An American? Doesn’t matter whether you’re at home or abroad - you’re on your own. The current sitting President and Vice President absolutely do not give a rotund rodent’s rear about the safety of Americans. Don’t pee on our legs and tell us its raining.
Ok, rant over. Have a happy Thanksgiving!
Biden is not a leader, he is a tyrant.
I agree that someone other than harryass, I mean harris HAD to write that for her. She isn't smart enough to come up with something that clear.
There are SOOOOO many holes, many you pointed out in your rant, that came to mind while reading her statement.
I thought about how they still support the idiot women of the "squad" in Congress. These women are so ungrateful for the life that has been afforded them in this country. And they use antisemitic rhetoric while speaking on the floor of the House, which should NOT be allowed in ANY FORM.
Another thing that came to mind is, the ONLY way to insure that the humanitarian aid gets to the citizens of Gaza and NOT into the hands of hamas is to DESTROY hamas completely. Take them OUT of power and make sure that ALL that supported their cause are no longer able to do what they have been doing. Be that killing them or imprisoning them, that's up to the people in that area to decide just how harsh the punishments should be.
Finally, their CLAIM to care about the safety of Americans is outlandish. They say that in one breath then yammer about taking away our 2nd amendment rights. How can we stay safe and protect ourselves is we are not allowed to keep and bear arms? THE reason we have never been invaded by an enemy is because we have the LARGEST armed populace in the world. The number of armed citizens outnumbers our OWN military.
The people that are in the White House right now say the things they think will garner favor with the voting base. They don't realize how much most of the citizenry HATES the things they are doing that have caused so much turmoil in our day to day lives.
I'm close to setting the count down clock for when they are ousted. I will dance naked in the street in celebration. (Not really that but I will be VERY VERY happy.)
