Since President Biden’s unifying speech on September 1, 2022, many have made comparisons to Hitler and Naziism. While the backdrop and lighting effects for the speech certainly evoke images of Herr Fuhrer and several dystopian movies - Chancellor Sutler in V for Vendetta, Alma Coin in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, General Hux’s speech in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, just to name a few - the tenor and content of the President’s speech, and his positions and policies, are not those of 1930s Germany. We all know the left projects, therefore, in general, the aspersions they cast at others is that of which they themselves are guilty. They’ve used the terms “Nazi” and “Fascist” so much, it is understandable for people to believe that the left is just that; and make no mistake, they do use many fascist tactics. The comparison, however, is still not quite accurate.
You see, Hitler was a socialist (this is often overlooked, and shows that Hitler was actually on the left of the political spectrum, not the right), he was also a nationalist, and while this particular speech contained elements of a feigned nationalism, we know that Biden and the left hate America. Hitler blamed Germany’s problems on people of a particular ethnicity, an ethnicity apart from his own - he blamed Jews. President Biden and his party, while they do rail about “white supremacy” (“white” being an ethnicity of which he is a part), he isn’t blaming our problems on that ethnicity; instead, the potential fall of our “democracy” is blamed on his political opponents. Finally, Hitler’s nationalism led him to focus primarily on Germany, at least until World War II. The Democrats, however, are globally-focused. No, it is not fair at all to compare President Biden to Adolf Hitler - it is far more accurate to compare him to Josef Stalin.
A little history from an article on the Library of Congress website titled, Revelations from the Russian Archives - Internal Workings of the Soviet Union:
Having come to power in October 1917 by means of a coup d'état, Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks spent the next few years struggling to maintain their rule against widespread popular opposition. They had overthrown the provisional democratic government and were inherently hostile to any form of popular participation in politics. In the name of the revolutionary cause, they employed ruthless methods to suppress real or perceived political enemies. The small, elite group of Bolshevik revolutionaries which formed the core of the newly established Communist Party dictatorship ruled by decree, enforced with terror.
This tradition of tight centralization, with decision-making concentrated at the highest party levels, reached new dimensions under Joseph Stalin. As many of these archival documents show, there was little input from below. The party elite determined the goals of the state and the means of achieving them in almost complete isolation from the people. They believed that the interests of the individual were to be sacrificed to those of the state, which was advancing a sacred social task. Stalin's “revolution from above” sought to build socialism by means of forced collectivization and industrialization, programs that entailed tremendous human suffering and loss of life.
Hmmmm….that sounds incredibly familiar. Power concentrated at “the highest party levels”, centralization, government making decisions in isolation from the people, sacrificing individual rights for “the public good”, all to advance “sacred social task[s].” Where have we seen and heard this story more recently? This following piece from a speech delivered at the Sixth Congress of the R.S.D.L.P (Bolsheviks) also has a familiar ring to it:
The Central Committee proceeded from the fact that our revolution was developing along peaceful lines, and that the composition of the Soviets of Workers' and Soldiers' Deputies, and hence of the government, could be altered by new elections to the Soviets. Our opponents accused us of trying to seize power. That was a calumny. We had no such intention. We said that we had the opportunity by means of new elections to the Soviets to change the character of the activity of the Soviets and make it conform with the wishes of the broad masses. It was clear to us that a majority of one vote in the Soviets of Workers' and Soldiers' Deputies would be enough to make the government take a different course. New elections were therefore the keynote of our work in the month of May.
“Our opponents accused us of trying to seize power. That was a calumny.” Calling opponents “liars” for bringing into question the legitimacy of an election? From Biden’s speech: “This is a nation that respects free and fair elections. We honor the will of the people. We do not deny it.”
Let’s set aside for a moment that, from what I heard at first pass, only maybe two statements the President made in his speech were true. I could pick apart the speech bit by bit showing how almost everything in it accusing Trump or “MAGA Republicans” is actually that of which the Democrats have been guilty for years, but I’m sure others will undertake that task. Instead, I want to focus on other points. First, Mr. Biden spent the majority of this short oration focused on “our democracy” as he repeated several times over, and on “MAGA Republicans” as a “clear and present danger.” Democracy, democracy, democracy. The “Democrats” can’t seem to use that word enough when they seek to preserve their own power. Yet this country is not, and has never been, and actual “democracy.” Yes, we have processes that are somewhat democratic in nature; however, the United States is a Republic, which is why Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution says:
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion (emphasis mine)
Nowhere in our founding documents will you find anything about “democracy.” But I digress…
Stalin in his quest for power not only demonized his political opponents, most of those arrested were tried secretly or received no trial. They had a few show trials, often based on forced confessions. Now of what is this reminiscent? Ah yes, those who were ushered by Capitol police into the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021 have been similarly treated. Now via this speech, we have calls for anyone else who believes in making America great again to be considered an enemy of the state. This all smacks of Stalin’s purges. All of the President’s rhetoric regarding the Republican party and MAGA Republicans is about dehumanizing political opponents. This is not only a stump speech to try to swing votes for the November mid-terms, but there was an almost tacit call for violence: “And, folks, it is within our power, it’s in our hands — yours and mine — to stop the assault on American democracy…We’re all called, by duty and conscience, to confront extremists who will put their own pursuit of power above all else.”
Stalin bragged of his accomplishments via his “Five-Year Plans,” plans that while undertaken during the prewar years, included the people suffering food shortages, long working hours, and other atrocities. In 1921, Lenin had instituted a “New Economic Plan” which allowed peasants to farm for profit, but the small percentage of those peasants who became prosperous as a result, called Kulaks, were disillusioned at the lack of manufactured goods available to be purchased with their profits. As Kulaks began refusing to sell their crops in political protest, Stalin took to collectivizing farms, and not only were the Kulaks farms taken, but any farmers who opposed nationalization had their farms taken as well. Millions died during this time.
In Biden’s speech, he too bragged of his accomplishments. “I believed we could lift America from the depths of COVID, so we passed the largest economic recovery package since Franklin Delano Roosevelt.” FDRs New Deal was a big move in the direction of socialism for the United States. Though the President states at one point in his speech, “This is a nation that honors our Constitution. We do not reject it,” later in his boasting he says, “I believed we could make America safer, so we passed the most significant gun safety law since President Clinton,” a clear violation of the Constitution. Further on he claims:
Look, I know the last year — few years have been tough. But today, COVID no longer controls our lives. More Americans are working than ever. Businesses are growing. Our schools are open. Millions of Americans have been lifted out of poverty. Millions of veterans once exposed to toxic burn pits will now get what they deserve for their families and the compa- — compensation.
Employment and wages were at historic highs right before COVID hit - now homelessness is at a historic high, not employment. Businesses are shuttering all around. Americans are not being lifted out of poverty; rather, inflation is pushing more and more Americans into poverty. This is the same type of false braggadocio practiced by Stalin in trying to rally the people behind his globalist, communist, and, yes, fascist goals. Biden and the Democrats have shown themselves to have comparable aims.
Under Stalin, Pravda, the Soviet newspaper was an official publication of the Communist Party. The paper printed stories on topics such as science and economics, and these stories always reflected the official party line. Biden made bold claims of MAGA Republicans in this regard:
They live not in the light of truth but in the shadow of lies.
…
They spread fear and lies –- lies told for profit and power.
Under the Democrats, however, we have seen in Stalinesque fashion, publications (Washington Post, New York Times, The Atlantic), mainstream media (almost any news station) and social media (Facebook, Twitter) being guided by unofficial government diktats in determining what is truth as opposed to misinformation and maligning, or outright blocking, those accused of promoting or spreading such misinformation. Examples abound such as information about Hunter Biden’s laptop, Covid measures (i.e. lockdowns, masks), treatments, and “vaccines,” “mostly peaceful riots,” the January 6 “insurrection,” and more.
Stalin grew up a “religious” person in the Orthodox Russian Church. He even attended seminary, but was expelled from one and forced to leave another after being arrested for possession of illegal literature. In time, he developed a disdain for religion and eventually fell in line with the Marxist tenet that, “Communism begins where atheism begins.” If we look at the life of Stalin, we could say he perhaps developed a sense of self-worship, and even today, some in Russia continue to venerate him, even to the point of religious observances in Georgia.
Though our President makes claims of being a devout Roman Catholic, and even invoked the name of God in his speech as he called for supernatural protection over our nation, the President’s political stance on many issues has shown him, like many others in government, to not truly be what he claims. As Stalin, President Biden is likely more atheistic in his beliefs and practice than he is Roman Catholic. If we look closely, we can see that, analogous to Stalin, Biden and the Democrats worship themselves and see themselves as the saviors of America.
As I stated at the outset, comparing President Biden and his speech to Hitler and any of Hitlers orations misses the mark. Biden and the Democrats far more closely resemble Josef Stalin and his Soviet elites. Like Stalin, Biden and the Democrats in their quest for power have the potential to cause the deaths of far more people than ever Hitler did. If we don’t stand up, we will lose the battle for the soul of our nation.
Excellent points! I have yet to listen to poopy pants joe's speech. Listening to him is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. The LIES that he is given to read are soooo outrageous I can't stand listening to the drivel anymore.
The go to "evil dictator" that everyone tends to compare however they don't like to is hitler. He is the most well known. Few know of the HORRORS that the soviets committed against THEIR OWN PEOPLE. And they want to model our government after the sicialist/communist example that Stalin and Lenin presented to the world. How screwed up is THAT?
ALL of the imagery that I've seen in the memes thus far is very fitting in my opinion. Especially the reference to the movie V for Vendetta. That to me is a case of life imitating art to the nth degree.
I'm still praying that our election process will be our saving grace (with some Devine intervention and actual God's Grace) in November. If they tides are not turned via diplomatic means then, we may be looking at a true civil war. The one they call a civil war that we had before was NOT that. But that is a discussion for another time and place.
P.S. I REALLY appreciate that you pointed out the FACT that this country is NOT a democracy but a REPUBLIC. So many people do not understand the difference between the two. IF this country were a true democracy then the entire country would be told how to do things by 2 or 3 leftist cities. The populations of NYC, Los Angeles and Chicago would be enough to out-vote middle America. I'll be damned if I'm going to let THAT happen.
