Until yesterday, I had not heard of the movie Bros. It’s not that I was ignoring this movie in particular - I just don’t generally keep up with what is playing in theaters, and I don’t watch enough commercial television to have seen trailers for it. It appears that the movie, though lauded by critics since premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival, which had a production budget of $22 million, grossed just shy of $5 million on its opening weekend. That said, I’m glad I saw neither the trailers nor the film. I have no interest in seeing a homosexual romantic comedy. According to the writer and star of the movie, that apparently makes me a “homophobic weirdo.” After all, if I wasn’t a homophobic weirdo, I would have rushed to the theater to see his movie on its opening weekend, right?
Isn’t it interesting how those who claim to merely want tolerance have no tolerance for those from whom they expect tolerance? Perhaps the problem is not that people are homophobic weirdos. I suggest the writer consider the fact that he made a movie people just don’t want to see. Perhaps a gay romantic comedy with a cast that is all openly gay just doesn’t appeal to heterosexuals. It certainly would not appeal to conservative Christians who hold to the Bible’s teaching that homosexuality is sin. It may be that the only people for whom this movie fills a hole are those of the same persuasion as those acting in it. If that is the case, they simply overplayed their budget. Maybe they’re just trying to fill the wrong hole.
There is nothing wrong with people choosing to not see a movie. Some people don’t like horror films; some don’t like drama; some don’t like romantic comedy. Therefore, should it really surprise anyone if some people don’t want to see a homosexual rom com? How does casting aspersions at potential customers help your case at all Mr. Eichner? When even a theater chain is contacting Universal to let them know that they are pulling the trailers, shouldn’t that say something to the producers? Perhaps we should ask, will this film hit theaters in China or anywhere in the Middle East? Would Billy Eichner comment on whether he believes all of China and the Middle East are “homophobic weirdos”? I guess if you’re not on board with Mr. Eichner’s agenda, there is something wrong with you; it couldn’t possibly be that there is something not quite right with Mr. Eichner.
We’ve always been told that there is no such thing as a “homosexual agenda,” that they just want to be left alone to live their lives the way they want. So why should they be so upset if people don’t want to see a film that depicts their lives? The Bible teaches homosexuality is a sin, and I certainly don’t want to see it larger than life being shoved down my throat. It has nothing to do with “homophobia” - I do not fear homosexuals, which would be the correct definition of that word, nor do I hate homosexuals, which is how that word is wrongfully used. Billy Eichner and anyone else of his ilk are free to live their lives as they see fit. Unfortunately, instead of seeking God, they’re looking for love in all the wrong places; and while I would like to see a better life for these people, their sin is between them and God. Neither I nor anyone else should be shamed for not wishing to view nor celebrate their sin.
The leftists in hollywierd have been pushing the woke agenda crap for a long time. It has been put into hyperdrive in the last 5 years or so. Over the past year and a half there has been at least a small amount of push back from the conservative Christian right but that push back has been too little too late in my opinion.
THANKFULLY some of the garbage coming out of the leftist elite in the entertainment industry has actually backfired on them in a big way in the more recent past. This "Bros" movie is just the latest proof positive that they are pushing the beliefs of a fringe group of the population. They would like for you to believe that the alphabet community permeates our society and lives EVERYWHERE and that they represent a much larger portion of the population than what they do in reality.
Somehow, we have been duped into catering to this tiny number of people that now has way more of a voice than the MASSES that do not agree with their way of life. This is not to say that all on the right want to "outlaw" their way of living. I honestly don't care what others do in the privacy of their own homes. But I don't want it shoved in my face or be told that I HAVE to accept it as a "NORMAL" behavior.
The "entertainment" that is being put out there that over-represents this part of the world is taking some major hits. These hits are happening more frequently every day. The left is starting feed on it's own in a number of cases, but that is another topic.
I spent the greater part of 20 years of my life working in the theatre industry. This movie is what we would have referred to as a "BOMB". It blew up on them in a big way costing them MEGA BUCKS that they will never recover. In this case it does not hurt my feelings in the least. I'm glad the message that this kind of garbage film is NOT WANTED by the masses. My guess is the next weekend's grosses will actually pick up some because of the number of people that will go see it to find out why it tanked in the first place. It will NEVER make back the money invested in the production no matter how much negative press it gets and that is a good thing if you ask me. We have also seen backlash on companies like Netflix for their programming choices that saw a multitude of people cancelling their subscriptions and costing the company millions. Netflix quickly saw the error in their ways and did an about face on those decisions. There are other companies like disney that are seeing profits take a hit because of the choices made to bow down to the alphabet mob.
Bottom line is these companies are getting hit where it hurts the most.... the bottom line. Some will back away from these piss-poor decisions as soon as they see profit margins dropping or shareholders abandoning ship. Other larger companies will be able to dig their heels in for longer but ultimately, they will feel the weight of the horrible choices too and will reverse course. GREED is the ultimate winner in Tinsel Town, and they will not let any one group cause them to lose money.
