“Democracy is on the ballot” - don’t fall for it
Democracy has NEVER been on a ballot in America nor is it the American way
I wrote recently about the aspersion the left has cast at those who doubt the legitimacy of the 2020 election, that we are “anti-democracy”:
The fact is, America has never been a democracy. Whenever the left talks about our democracy™ being in danger, it is because they feel the power they’ve been wielding slipping through their fingers.
As breathing is natural and necessary for life, so is lying for Biden and the Democrats’ political careers. Biden once again put this on full display for the nation in his address from Union Station tonight. Mr. Biden opened his speech by first relating the recent attack on Paul Pelosi to the January 6 tussle at the Capitol, citing David DePape’s question “Where is Nancy?” The idea that DePape’s assault on Paul Pelosi is somehow tied to conservative politics has been so far debunked as to be risible in Biden’s reference. DePape is a drug using, BLM supporting, illegal alien nudist - not exactly your typical MAGA Republican. Ah, but facts never stand in the way of a good Democrat narrative. The President even went so far in this speech to repeat the blatant fabrication that those who entered the Capitol on January 6 were an “armed, angry mob.” The only people who were armed at the Capitol on January 6 were Capitol police; the Capitol police also were the only ones to intentionally inflict harm on anyone at the Capitol that day. But….breathing. It must not stop.
The President continued to belabor the point of the peril posed to our democracy™, claiming that anyone who does not believe the 2020 election was legitimate “refuses to accept the will of the people.” Except, how did someone who could barely draw tens of people to a campaign event receive more votes than any President in history - more than one of the most popular presidents ever, the one under whom Biden served as Vice President - and this despite the incumbent, whose appearances boasted tens of thousands of attendees, and whose vote count went up from his prior election? What happened in 2020 was unprecedented, not only in vote counts, but in abnormalities. States changed election laws without input from their legislatures, those same legislatures who are responsible for all laws regarding voting. Four states claimed to stop counting in the middle of the night, only to have the ratios of votes radically invert when counting restarted. Mail-in ballots were mass-distributed and then accepted with incurable imperfections (missing signatures, received after the required date, etc.) when in the past, voting by mail was reserved only for extreme circumstances or for those out of the country, and then required that the ballot be specifically requested by the voter. These are all to be overlooked because, according to the President, all claims of malfeasance regarding the 2020 election were proved false; however, none of them were proved false - courts simply refused to hear the cases, usually based on technicalities. Now, the President encourages voters to “be patient,” as we may not have all the election results on election day, or even for several days after. Aside from 2000, when there was debate about ballots with issues (i.e. hanging chads - no, I’m not swinging from a rope), in my lifetime, never have Americans had to wait more than a few hours after the polls closed to find out the winners - until 2020. So what message does the President send by implying that this will happen again? Brazil held elections on October 30 in which almost 120 million people voted, and their results were known that same night. Exactly why can America not do the same, especially when that was the norm in the past? I can only imagine that we should expect similarities to 2020.
The President further warned that political violence was not our way. Yet who has enacted or threatened political violence? While this again was aimed at January 6, the real political violence over the past several years has been fomented by the left. Antifa and BLM committed acts of violence across the country in response to campaign events, legal proceedings, and even took over part of Seattle and claimed it as an autonomous zone. Before the 2020 election, the left warned that if Trump won, there would be further rioting: https://californiaglobe.com/fr/blm-antifa-far-left-promise-rioting-if-trump-wins/ . Democrat politicians have warned of violence in the event they don’t win elections. When has such rhetoric been heard from the right?
For Democrats, those who want to protect the integrity of our elections are guilty of voter suppression. It’s wrong to want only those eligible to vote to be able to vote. As Greta Thunberg would say, “how dare you?!?!” Watching ballot drop boxes to make sure people aren’t abusing the system is racist! Having poll watchers watch over the polls disadvantages people of color! Voter ID laws threaten transgender voters! Could we be any more melodramatic? That Democrats and their media lapdogs even peddle such hilarious hyperbole is pathetic. That people actually believe the balderdash is lamentable.
In the portion of his speech beginning around the 9 minute 30 second mark, until about the 12 minute mark, the President trotted out the leftist trope that Republicans want an autocracy. He had the audacity to imply that Republicans seek single-party rule, when that is the modus operandi of the Democrats. Imagine saying such a thing while at the same time insisting that the Democrats alone can preserve our democracy™; Republicans will bring only tyranny. Yet it is the left that continues to ordain oppressive orders, such as mask and vaccine mandates, eliminating fossil fuels, forcing people to buy electric cars, and defunding police. It is the left who chooses to repeatedly release violent offenders from prison and lock up those who commit only minor infractions, then cry out that laws must be obeyed. It is the left who wants to force everyone to pay for their “green” initiatives, even though the only thing green about them is the taxpayer dollars being dumped into them. In this same small portion of the speech, the President repeated the word democracy so many times that were you playing a drinking game wherein you took a shot at each mention of democracy, you would not only fail to reach the end of the speech, but you would likely die from alcohol poisoning.
In this speech the President also recycled from a previous speech his statement that, “you can't love your country only when you win." Apparently, however, this is the only way the Democrats will be happy. After all, according to Mr. Biden’s entire speech, the only way our democracy™ can survive is if the Democrats win. Does that not imply that he would not be proud of our country if Republicans win? He continues to blame Donald Trump for all the country’s woes, because he has no achievements, not as President, nor in his four-decade Congressional career, on which to stand.
As short as it was, listening to the President’s speech was painful. It was a painful reminder of how corrupt our politics have become. I do not only hold the left in contempt in their lust for power and their pernicious pursuit of political gain. The Democrats do, however, hold somewhat of a monopoly on it. The hypocrisy in Biden’s words come all too easily, but he has shown this throughout his political career. A simple Internet search will uncover several montages of his lies, many of which were called out by the media when they still thought it worthwhile to do their jobs rather than act as an organ of the state. I’m left to wonder whether a speech like this from a President, just days before a national election, is ethical, or for that matter, legal. No one in the main stream media will question it, with perhaps the exception of Tucker Carlson. It deserves questioning. It deserves our derision. It was simply despicable. It left a sour taste in my mouth, and it appears to be a portent of more perfidy at the polls. Voter beware.
He can keep his "democracy" crap! We DO need to save our REPUBLIC from the likes of HIM and those like him.
