Has the fox been charged with guarding the hen house?
Really?
Is the Department of Justice on the level? Many of late have questioned this, especially in light of the unconstitutional imprisonment, without trial, of January 6 “rioters”, raids on homes of pro-life advocates, and other recent actions. Now they have announced they will be monitoring the 2022 elections under the pretense of protecting election integrity:

Though apparently the DoJ has been involved in monitoring elections since 1965, some media outlets are inferring that this is a result of the “big lie” that the 2020 election was not quite legitimate:

So, is this a case of the fox guarding the hen house? Or perhaps it is simply The Law of Salutary Contradiction in action: “The 2020 election wasn’t stolen, so we better make sure it isn’t stolen again!”
I don’t think either is very reassuring. I might have been more comfortable with hiring election officials from Brazil.
I remember the lesson from grade school about true and false statements. If ANY part of the statement is false then the whole thing is false. Even if there are elements of truth in it.
The same applies to things like the people in charge of our government.
There ARE some in our government that ARE honest and truly want to serve the people. Unfortunately because of the other lying pieces of crap those few honest ones are negated.
A few bad apples truly do soil the whole bunch.
If I trusted the feds to guard election integrities I might as well trust a meth addict with pay check.
