On September 22, I published a piece titled, Why can't we have peace in the Middle East? In that article, I explained that there can never be peace in the Middle East because the Arab nations, all descending from Ishmael, would always be at war with their neighbors, especially Israel, the half-brother (Isaac through whom came Jacob, father of Israel) for whom Ishmael’s descendants have enmity. This issue dates back to Abraham, and until this world ends, it will continue. The Hatfields and McCoys were nothing by comparison.
In that same article, I also referenced a September 22 piece from the Jerusalem Post that held an opposing view, stating that peace talks between Israel and Saudi Arabia was a potential precursor to peace with six or seven other Muslim nations: https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-760182.
We all know what has happened since. On Saturday, October 7, barely two weeks after my writing, Hamas attacked Israel on the morning following the end of the Jewish holiday of Sukkot. It has since been shown that the Hamas attack was, at least in part, funded also by Iran. Am I surprised this happened? You can guess the answer to that.
Many take pleasure in being right. In this instance, I do not. I wish I was wrong. That Hamas commits these atrocities is horrifying at best. It appalls me that so many in the west (many who would readily be dispatched from this life by Hamas), despite all evidence that Hamas is a terrorist organization, claim to stand in unity with Hamas and the Palestinians. Yet here we are.
Should we be involved in the war there? No, we shouldn’t be involved in any wars outside our borders. Should we stand with the one country there who has been our ally since its inception and is not overtly anti-America? Yes.
What more is there to say, but….I told you so.
Chad, spot on.
