Pronoun: any of a small set of words (such as I, she, he, you, it, we, or they) in a language that are used as substitutes for nouns or noun phrases and whose referents are named or understood in the context - Merriam-Webster online dictionary
The past ten to fifteen years in America have played host to some of the most inane movements and events in history. From the risibly named “Antifa” using fascist tactics to stand against alleged fascism to men winning “Woman of the Year” awards, there seems no end to the lunacy.
Perhaps one of the most obtuse outgrowths of the omphaloskepsis generated by gender ideology is that of preferred pronouns. For those who live in reality, there are two genders: male and female (except when discussing grammar, in which case there are three: masculine, feminine, and neuter). Likewise, there are pronouns used to refer to each of the genders: he/him for males, she/her for females, and it/they for gender-neutral/inanimate objects or when not specifying gender (for instance, one might refer to a lion as “it” even though it may be male or female). Only in the past decade have people decided to invent genders other than male or female and preferred pronouns to accommodate the new genders. In addition, those who suffer from gender incongruence (the ICD11’s latest name for what used to be gender identity disorder, transsexualism, or gender dysphoria) insist that when being addressed, others use pronouns of the opposite sex or pronouns related to one of the umpteen “genders” (read: imaginary unicorns) on the “gender spectrum” (read: spectrum of imaginary unicorns).
Throughout history, people have used pronouns for other people based on physical appearance. Through most of history, this is because men appeared to be men and women appeared to be women. Yes, there have always been instances of cross-dressing; that is not a novel concept that suddenly arose in the 21st century. There have not, however, always been (according to one website) 81 “genders” (of which 79 are imaginary) nor people seeking to affirm their gender through life altering genital surgery.
Side note: This is one of the most preposterous premises proposed by the proponents of transgenderism - surgery. First they say that gender has nothing to do with sexual organs (note that even the ICD 11 mentioned above lists gender identity disorder among conditions related to sexual health, though the ICD 10 had it genericized under the classification disorders of adult personality and behaviour), then they insist that someone who is transgender can have his or her gender transitioned (changed) or affirmed by having surgery to alter his or her…sexual organs. This is one of the most psychotic examples of cognitive dissonance ever exhibited. If gender is a social construct, how can surgery alter or affirm someone’s gender? If surgery can alter or affirm someone’s gender, how can it be simply a social construct? It takes some olympic-level mental gymnastics to hold both of these to be true. This is the most obstreperous manifestations of Orwellian doublethink to infect society. That the people who promote transgenderism believe genital surgery can affirm a person’s gender reveals that, somewhere in the recesses of their minds (if not the forefront), they recognize gender and sex are inextricable. Either that, or they are suffering a psychological disconnect, because the ideas that gender is a social construct and that surgery can affirm gender are irreconcilable. Now back to our regularly-scheduled program…
The idea that a person can choose the pronouns others are required to use in reference to that person is utterly psychotic - it is also what I refer to as the tyranny of the trans movement. Setting aside the fact that a person cannot change or choose his or her gender any more than one could make a bull give milk or a cow sire a calf, trying to force someone to call you something you are not, is absurd and, at least in America, is a violation of the principle of free speech that is enshrined in the First Amendment. Neither a person nor government has authority to assault an individual’s sensibility by forcing them to another’s fantasy.
Imagine the person who claims to be gender-fluid requiring that you use pronouns appropriate to how that person feels? If that person’s gender can change at any moment, how would you know which pronouns to use on any given day, or at any time on any given day? Would that person wear some type of digital signage capable of being altered at a whim to reflect the gender-of-the-moment? Do you not see how maniacal one must be to even acquiesce to, much less promulgate, such abject absurdity?
Pronouns are based on sex. Despite arguments to the contrary, or the original name of that which is now called gender affirmation surgery (what once was called sex change surgery), sex can not be changed - it is genetic, it is in the chromosomes. To coerce someone to call another by pronouns that do not align with that person’s sex is to oblige them to deny reality and indulge a delusion not their own. It is tyranny to intimidate and impel a person to play pretend in order to placate the pretense of another. Any law, rule, regulation, or policy, public or private, compelling a person to comply with the preferred pronouns of another is a violation of liberty and of the right to the freedom of speech.
A man claiming to be a woman is still a man, and a woman claiming to be a man is still a woman, no matter how difficult it is for their brain or emotions to accept the biological reality. There is no such thing as a man trapped in a woman’s body (except maybe an unborn son). There is no such thing as a woman trapped in a man’s body. No one is better off by subscribing to such self-deceit.
No one, whether government, employer, or otherwise, has authority to make someone use words that he or she does not wish to, nor (in most cases, aside from maintaining decorum in the workplace) to not say what one wishes (again: First Amendment). Instead of attempting to thrust tyranny upon those unaffected by transgenderism, perhaps those suffering should be provided the psychological treatment they desperately need; because no one should prostrate himself or herself at the alter of pronoun pretension.
This is your best yet! Very thoughtful and thorough, with absolute and biting logic.
My pronouns are "weeble" and "wabble" and no matter what you hit me with, I will NOT fall down!

We really do have a case of the inmates running the asylum. Even the ones that are SUPPOSED to be helping these mentally ill people are mentally ill themselves.
We really do need to go back to the days of people being "card carrying crazy."
