They want to eliminate your carbon footprint
They just never tell you the real reason
With the cult of climate change, the carbon footprint is the original sin. In the voice of one of the climate cultists young priestesses, “How dare you add your carbon to the environment?!?!” After all, excess carbon, usually the most demonized form being carbon dioxide, is to blame for causing earth’s temperature to rise, the polar ice caps to melt, the oceans rising, and whole countries disappearing into the sea. Of course, absolutely none of this is happening, but that doesn’t stop those among this religion from castigating unbelievers.
Climate catastrophe alarmism is not new. At least since the 1970s, “experts” were claiming damage to the environment was hastening the end of the world. From the hole in the ozone layer to acid rain to the next ice age, prophecies of planetary pratfall have been promulgated by purveyors of public propaganda (the news). Even so, since the most recent more specific concerns of “global warming” were found to be false (see this article from 2013: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2425775/Climate-scientists-told-cover-fact-Earths-temperature-risen-15-years.html ), the terminology was modified to “man-made climate change” so that the narrative could continue. Why is such fear-mongering so appealing to so many?
Like any other cult, there are two main drivers: power to control others and love of money. Al Gore has made more money on the most recent spate of faux fear-mongering, beginning with his book An Inconvenient Truth published in 2006. Since then, carbon-reduction virtue signaling has become common practice among proselytes. They attend their conferences to decry deniers who insist on continuing the use of so-called fossil fuels. Of course, in order to arrive at such conferences, they fly on private jets which depend on fossil fuels and create an abundance of carbon dioxide. Not to worry! The government will allow you to buy a carbon offset. That’s right - you can continue to produce as much carbon/carbon dioxide as you want; you simply pay someone else to produce less. Then, voila! The environment is saved!

“Mark Ruffalo has been out front on COP21, tweeting with the hashtag #KeepItInTheGround—a call to leave fossil fuels locked up underground instead of mining them, burning them and releasing carbon dioxide into our atmosphere.”
This has been the battle cry of many. What they never say, however, is how all of the products other than fuel they are willing to give up in order to accomplish this. Though even President Biden and Vice President Harris while on the campaign trail leading up to the 2020 election preached that they would put an end to drilling for oil, they fail, as do all other proponents, to address the items that would be lost as a result. Most people don’t realize the extent to which they depend every day on the byproducts of fossil fuel drilling. Here is a short, very incomplete list of items that come from fossil fuels:
Tires - it would be hard to drive electric cars without them, not to mention what could be used as a replacement for the landing gear on airplanes.
Plastics - aside from some flimsier plastics such as clamshells in which some foods are packaged (these are often made from plant cellulose), rigid plastics all come from petroleum products. Say goodbye to plastic toys, the plastics that are used for interior parts of cars (even electric cars), like the dashboard, battery casings, well, and almost everything in use today.
Fiberglass - synthesized with polymers from petroleum, fiberglass is used to make boats, surfboards, some external cart parts, windmill rotors, and many other products, many used for nature-lovers’ outdoor activities.
Make-up - compounds such as propylene glycol, used in make-up, food, and various other products, comes from fossil fuels
Clothing - polyester, nylon, vinyl, spandex, all come from petroleum. The clothing (and upholstery) industry would have to change drastically. Imagine all those people giving up their spandex pants and dri-fit gym clothes.
Pillows, mattresses, blankets/comforters - many of these products rely for filling on polyester, polyurethane, and styrene, all of which rely on fossil fuel drilling.
Of course, how many of these armageddon adherents are willing to give up air travel? There are certainly no reasonable solutions for replacing airborne fossil-fuel-burning fuselages with solar-, wind-, or electric-powered alternatives. The batteries alone would make an electric airplane little more than an over-sized, three-wheeled bus with wings.
The funny thing about all the hue and cry over carbon dioxide is that, even now, when there are claims that it is at its highest concentration ever (this isn’t necessarily true), it only comprises 0.04% (that is four one-hundredths of one percent or 400 parts per million) of the earth’s atmosphere. It is hardly the cause of their precious Gaia getting overheated. If you don’t think this doesn’t include some kind of twisted religious Earth-worship, just look at what Nancy Pelosi had to say about the recently adopted “Inflation Reduction Act”:

What’s more, despite fomenting fears of terra-transforming rising tides, the climate cultists continue to purchase beach-front property. Do you really think they would spend millions on parcels of land perched so precariously if they truly believed they would soon be submerged?
Beyond all this, those being swayed by the curators of collapse need to remember some facts from elementary school science. All life on this planet is carbon-based. Human cells all contain carbon. Animals all consist of carbon. Plants are replete with carbon. All of the food on which we feast contains carbon. Proteins are composed of amino acids, which consist of a central carbon atom linked to other groups, including a carboxyl group (more carbon). Carbohydrates are comprised of a varied combination carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen (an insect's exoskeleton is made of chitin, a hardened form of carbohydrate). Fats have backbone which is generally a hydrocarbon chain. We cannot escape the fact that we have a carbon footprint. When humans and animals exhale, we exhale carbon dioxide. This is absorbed by plants to fuel photosynthesis, which in turn release the oxygen that keeps us alive. Anyone with a fifth-grade level of education knows that carbon dioxide is plant food. This brings us back again to the question: why such devotion to dire and distorted declarations of doom? Power and money. The government is taxing us to fund the “green new deal”, about which the only thing green is the money coming out of our pockets (I’ve written about the farce of so-called “green energy” here:

They are taking money from everyday citizens and granting from those taxes subsidies to supposedly green pet projects - never forget all the money former President Obama pumped into failed-clean-energy company Solyndra, among other “green” initiatives. This also brings it down to control. You will use green energy. You will drive an electric car - Pete Buttigieg says the pain from the high price of gas should inspire you to buy one. You will stop eating meat - cow farts cause global warming you infidel! While they can tax and control you all your life, there is only one way they can truly eliminate your carbon footprint - that is to eliminate you.
