For some this is not academic as now that I am 68, according to the state, I can receive “benefits.” However, as a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ I recall the command “you shall not steal”. Social(ist) Security is simply intergenerational theft. Even though I have paid in for decades, I cannot take the “benefits”. It is the idea of practicing what you preach (don’t say that in church).

I described this in a video when I turned 62 as I then qualified for early retirement. I made the commitment I would not take it. Another video was done a year later and again when I turned 65 (http://Kozlowski.org/Social_Security). Now at 68 I have lived it. It has been costly as I have walked away from over $100,000 in “benefits”.

Besides the money part, what it does is divides the intergenerational family. Younger members are removed from the responsibility to take care of older members, in particular the mom and grandma. See 1st Timothy 5.

Plus it encourages those who are older to exit their activity in the world, to remove the wisdom they should have gained in life from being applied to culture. Consider Rehoboam's Folly in 1st Kings 12.

But the argument is I put in therefore I deserve it back. If I hire a thug to steal your car, does that give you the right to hire the same thug to steal someone else’s? That is EXACTLY what Social(ist) Security is as the thug is the US Government. Money was taken from you by force, i.e. theft, to pay the generation ahead of you. If you take it now, you are taking by force from the generation behind you. You are a thief.

Is that a hard thing to hear for someone dependent on Social(ist) Security? YES! But for the follower of Christ, is your provision and trust in the state or the Lord?

Democrats never created a social program they couldn’t raid for other purposes. It’s all a sham, social security, just so there’s a continuous flow of cash to use for whatever the govt wants. Period.
