Love the image. I tell people who are all in on one party or the other, both parties are just two sides of the same tarnished coin. Dated, I know, but I’m old.

For years now I have seen the 2 Party system as "Good Cop, Bad Cop". They are both after their own power. Just 2 sides to the same coin. Divide and conquer the citizens. We are more easily controlled that way. All we have to do is compare their words to their actions and recognition their double standards, "Rules for thee but not for me." We will see now if "the Disruptors" can begin to make a difference.

For years I have stated that both parties represent Socialism/Marxism. The Democrats are straight up Socialist while the Republicans are Socialist Lite. It's just a matter of how fast either party gets you to the door. Liberty and self-determination were lost long ago in favor of "womb to the tomb" government intervention, aka intrusion.

"Left wing" or " right wing" doesn't matter because they are part of the same bird. It was explained to me like this; the FIRST priority of any person running for office it to WIN. Once IN office your first priority ID getting re-elected to stay there. It doesn't matter if you actually ACCOMPLISH anything so long as your first priority is accomplished.

The sad thing is, people have been conditioned to believe they HAVE to be part of groups in order for their individual voice to be heard.

There is a boat load of stuff that could be said about how SO FAR OFF BASE we are as a country. The establishment of the party system is a big part of how we got to where we are today.

I am really as "independent" because I RARELY vote a straight party ticket. I have been much more aligned with the conservative end of the spectrum the last couple of decades. That's the issue in a nutshell. People need to be associated with like minded individuals. This is how the party systems developed in the first place. That snowball has been rolling down that hill ever since.

I have long believed that a good way to change this situation is two-fold: 1) Significantly reduce the length of political campaigns and the amount of money that can be donated/spent. Contrary to what SCOTUS believes, anything that requires money is not free. Thus, political speech isn't free speech. 2) Place a 'no' box by every candidate's name in every race on every ballot. Voters can vote no for all candidates if they so choose but can vote yes for only one. If a candidate receives more nos than years, they cannot run for any office until the next general election cycle. For any candidate to be declared the winner, they must receive a simple majority of the votes of all registered voters, as non-voters are presumed to have voted no for all candidates. If no candidate receives a simple majority, a new election must be held within 90 days. Any candidate whose yes votes exceeded the no votes received can appear on that ballot along with any new contenders. Of course, this plan will sharply reduce the power of the parties. Additionally, since the parties control the whole voting process, it will be difficult, but not impossible, to implement these changes. It's the people's choice. They need to choose wisely.
