Chad. I was thinking about this also, but I do believe that the government is purchasing them but using the budgets of those agencies not necessarily that those agencies will have use of those weapons and ammo and the more they buy for the government the less we will have as a militia people. So just let that sink in

I have considered the idea that the purchases create a dwindling market for the people. The flip side of that is, when the market dwindles, people get scared and start buying a stockpiling. It could meet the goal of shrinking the market or backfire and create a stronger market.

That is exactly my thinking in this. The government is buying the guns and ammo in order to keep them out of the hands of anyone that MIGHT try to buy, or even steal, one. BUT, as you said, when the market starts to dry up people tend to start buying EVERY shell possible and stockpiling what they can. They also start looking at other calibers to buy and to stock ammo. 5.7 may not be your first choice but it's not a horrible option if .22 or even .223 starts to disappear.

The idea that our government is building a shadow army to deploy against law abiding citizens that resist having their Constitutional Rights trampled on is a very scary one. There WILL be a large amount of bloodshed if that happens. I know so many people that would rather die fighting for those rights than live under the thumb of some idiot dictator.

Yes, MY tinfoil hat is shining BRIGHT right now. I believe that diplomatic and peaceful means of getting out of the situation we are in are just about spent. Certain dominos must fall into place JUST SO in order to avoid a TRUE 'insurrection'. I firmly believe that the great American experiment is about to come to a miserable and violent end. The way things get divvied up is yet to be determined.
