It was me I am that friend. But what Chad says is very true. NYS has had its closest gubernatorial race in decades. Many reports and polls show that abortion “rights” was the tipping point that drove the democrat party to a victory. And now that the election is over we’re right back to the same complaints. Something as simple as the firm belief that abortion will be outlawed period, no ifs ands or buts, allowed CRT, mandates, pro criminal bail reform, gun control, and countless other issues go rampant for another 4 years even though a vast majority of NYers have spoken out against all of these issues.

I'd argue the opposite. The reason Zeldin came close was his promises to to protect the last vestiges of religious liberties from the state.

He would of won more votes until Hochuls scam commercial saying he’s going to ban abortion. Campaigning in a very red district, I heard plenty of the what ifs.

That was used all over the country. There are almost no instances where no-exception abortion exists. And the "progressive" European countries they think to model themselves after all have abortion laws that are just as if not more restrictive than red state laws.

Exactly what we have been trying to convey to young uneducated indoctrinated voters. First off, a governor can’t just make the law. It requires the state assembly to start one along with votes from senate before it even gets to governor. Not to mention, Zeldin had strong answers to the abortion issues but having a party affiliation led to firm beliefs he could ban them completely.

Unfortunately a lot of our swinging votes are from the younger generations so they believed the bull.

There’s other issues in the NYS gubernatorial election as well but with the posted results, it could of been a turn of seat had they actually researched themself instead of listened to the media outlets.

When you say, "the opposite," are you meaning, keeping the state out of religion? Or that religion can't/shouldn't influence politics?

The former. The attacks on Jewish religious schools definitely increased the Orthodox Jewish turnout, though it's not as numerically significant as people think it is.
