Perspective is most important. When you get down to the bare bones of the idea of TRUE FREEDOM there is only ONE who is responsible for ours. Those who have already accepted the Truth live a life that is happy, joyous and free.
I struggled with the idea of using Christ's sacrifice as a cruch for a long time. But, as you stated in the article, I don't have to live a PERFECT righteous life AS Jesus did. It is impossible for me to do that, and it sets me up for failure. I DO have to strive to do BETTER with the free life He has given me. Not perfect, but better than what I was doing before. And to do my best to improve upon that as much as possible.
Thank you for the reminder that HE lived that perfect life so I don't have to feel guilty when I fall short of the mark.
Thank you for this writing.
Have a spectacular Independence Day ..
While I was reading your post "Happy Independence Day!" and I read this line: "That independence was bought at the cost of the blood of many men."
My mind started turning with an idea...
Our independence was bought at the cost of the blood of many men.
Our freedom was bought at the cost of the blood of one man.
Than I read this post and you basically said the same thing!
Thank you for your writing, I enjoy it and it makes me think.
