World geography is an interesting subject. In it, we learn about oceans, continents, countries, etc. For instance, we can learn that countries like France, Germany, Ukraine, and Russia lie on the European continent, while the United States falls within the North American continent. Most people learn this by middle school, but it appears those serving in Congress never did.
Representative Gerald Connolly (D-VA), when he took the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to argue in favor of providing $61+ billion to Ukraine for their war with Russia, stated:
…today with the vote on Ukraine security aid we rededicate ourselves to who we are…some say well we have to deal with our border first the Ukrainian-Russian border is our border it's the border between depraved autocracy and freedom loving people…Slava Ukraine.
Just who does Connolly think “we” are? Is the “we” to whom he refers those in Congress, or the American people in general? Because, if we look at the map (see picture above), the “Ukrainian-Russian border” which he claims is “our border” is on a continent an ocean away from the United States. The shortest path from that border to the United States traverses a minimum of four other countries before having to cross the Atlantic to reach America’s shores.
This geographical reality seems lost on many who are, or want to be, in Congress.
Apparently, once the Russian troops march across the Ukraine border and take over there, they’ll continue their march right into the U.S., because, as Connolly said, the Ukraine border is our border, right? Or maybe it’s just next door. Let me run and get my globe…
…ok, I’m back. Nope, the globe hasn’t changed. There are still at least four countries and an ocean separating the U.S. from Ukraine. So, how, exactly, is the Ukrainian-Russian border our border? Or, how, precisely, will we be next?
Still, the Representatives are just doing their duty, protecting our Democracy™, right?
Apparently, this is not the United States Congress - this is the Ukrainian Congress. We Americans just got mixed up.
This explains why they waved Ukrainian flags on the House floor after the passing of the bill was announced (though they did receive a minor scolding for that - not sure why since they’re just doing their rightful duty - oh, and if you happen to be in the chamber and call attention to it, you’re threatened with a fine).
This explains why a Representative wears not an American flag pin, but a Ukrainian flag pin, on his lapel.
This also explains why Representative Bill Keating (D-MA), along with Representatives Tom Kean (R-NJ), Nathaniel Moran (R-TX), and Madeleine Dean (D-PA), also arrayed with the obligatory Ukrainian flag lapel pins, flew to Kiyv to personally provide President Zelensky the tally from that vote. Government officials always report up to the one they serve.
This explains why so many of them have been repeating the mantra, “Slava Ukraine” (more rightly, Slava Ukraini), which means, “glory to Ukraine.” These aren’t U.S. Representatives - they’re Ukrainian Representatives.
We must protect the Ukrainian democracy, the one where President Zelensky’s term ends in May of 2024 and the election for the next president took place on the last Sunday in March as the Ukrainian constitution dictates. Oh wait…what election? We must protect the Ukrainian democracy where people are free to speak their minds, the press is unhindered, and Ukrainians practice their religion without fear of persecution. You mean that’s not true either? Still, Slava Ukraine!
Silly us, thinking that a governmental body that meets on American soil, under the dome of a building in the American Capitol, actually Represents America. If they did, the border between the U.S. and Mexico would be defended and secured. But for Representatives of Ukraine, that is not our border (again, see picture above) - the Ukrainian-Russian border is our border. We have been depending upon the wrong body of elected officials to defend our (the American people’s) border.
Can you imagine a governmental body in any other country standing in their own legislative chamber, waving American flags, chanting “glory to America”, and voting to send billions of dollars to the U.S.? No? Neither can I, because it doesn’t happen. Governments in other countries don’t pledge allegiance to America. Yet our Congressmen, who (allegedly) pledge allegiance to the American flag, are quick to bedeck themselves with brooches of foreign flags, and to flourish those flags on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.
These are traitorous acts. These people, elected to represent and serve the American people, send billions of our dollars overseas to protect a border that is not “our border” (no, Representative Connolly, the Ukrainian-Russian border is not “our border”), yet will not do what is necessary to protect our own. It is time for the quislings in Congress to be held accountable. All they’re defending is their corrupt, overseas money-laundering operation, while simultaneously allowing our enemies to infiltrate our country through our southern border (yes - it is an invasion fomented and financed by foreign governments - and U.S. taxpayer dollars). This is treason, and we Americans need to eject from Congress all those who have perpetrated it upon us.
Geography... unfortunately far too many people never learn geography (they are lucky to identify which state they live in).
This same argument "If xyz falls, then the USA will fall" (the "Domino theory") was used to justify the Korean war and the Vietnam war. It's a lame argument. We the people (of the world), need to just say NO to war!
This also begs the question: What defines "counterfeit" money? If our government can print and distribute cash on demand, then isn't every dollar bill in my handbag just as worthless as bills generated in a basement somewhere? Oh, dear.........
