It's best to begin resolutions on a Monday so that they may be done away with by the weekend and started all over again the following Monday. "Wash, rinse, repeat!"

On a more serious note, I set regular commitments ranging from a few weeks up to one year and when they are done, I reconsider additional commitments; mostly of the spiritual / scriptural nature. Lifestyle change makes more sense than arbitrary resolutions anyway!

Goal setting is something I do advocate, however I do it on a daily basis (maintain a list of goals... aka a "to do" list), but they are specific things not vague ideas.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, brother! I didn't think you could make it to new years to write something else. LOL At any rate, Mom says "AMEN" to your assessment of the foolishness of new years resolutions. As for me, I resolve to never make another new years resolution. (Haven't actually made one in many years.)

Likewise! I never make any New Year's resolutions and I don't even think about them.

Happy 2025 to one and all! I don't make resolutions, anymore. I discovered that it was a setup for failure and self-loathing. I agree that setting goals is sensible. Any goals that I make for myself are not made public because there really are other people who thrive on others' failures.

May 2025 be a year of hope, renewal, prosperity, and health! 😃
