I too chose to stay away from the SOTU this year.

The few highlight clips that I have seen are proof positive that my decision to abstain was a wise move. I have no doubt that I would have been infuriated and/or nauseated by the BS spewing from the puppet's mouth.

If you cherry pick certain words from what he said you MIGHT be able to find a true statement.

Our president has proven himself to be a habitual liar.

It's not just about the current president. The SOTU is no longer an actual SOTU. If it weren't televised, if it were only presented to Congress (whether by speech or in writing), it would be far different from what the public now sees.

I didn't watch it either. Haven't for years, because as you said it's not truly a SOTU, but just another campaign speech. I did however watch Sarah's response, and found it moving and very well given. If you get a chance you should watch that one. I believe it's available on Rumble.

Interesting you should mention that. Did you know that the opposing party response to the SOTU was not a thing until 1966?

Others have shared Sanders' response with me - I just haven't had a chance to watch yet. I will.
