The problem lies in the mentality of “we the people” they’ve been slowly stewed to go along with the government so now when there’s an active shooting (or nearly an active shooting) they immediately believe that all bad people with firearms obtain them in some legal process. (That’s for the 2A part)

Nearly every active shooter has a long history of disturbing issues yet somehow aren’t nearly as watched as “patriots” that have never crossed the line of lawful. So I beg to question; why are good citizens that love this country and want to keep it the way our forefathers envisioned it can be extensively watched but people that show the patterns of active shooters are lost in the bureaucracy? (That’s for the active shooters part)

We live in a society that has fallen away from discipline and moved into a medical term for every situation (ADD, ADHD, so on) and attempt to use medications with a list of “possible” side effects miles long. They inject our consumables with so many chemicals they have more fake ingredients in the label than real. Then they wonder why we have a society with more disorders and diseases than most others. On top of it all, they try to push these practices on every other country. It’s no wonder HS graduates can’t do simple math nor have reading comprehension when they get in college (if they even try)

Finally add in the music our youth is exposed to where drugs, liquor, sex with numerous partners, and crime are the best things in life.

What do we expect of our society?

Too true. It is not just individual illness - it is a societal sickness.

Excellent, Chad.

As soon as the DSM V was made canonical, this gender and trans thing became a cultural trend rather than the dysphoria that it really is for the very few that truly suffer from the conditions that were associated with this branch of mental illness.

We are also looking at the long-term ramifications of childhood medications (ADD/ADHD) for nearly 3 generations and the horrors of "gender affirming care."

I tend to 'forget' to include the effects of the MIND ALTERING chemicals that have been given to children for the last 5 decades, in the name of SCIENCE and the betterment of "treatment" of conditions that COULD be managed IF the parents put more energy into their part of the "treatment." I know there are SOME that are so over-the-top bad that medications are a MUST. The medical and pharmaceutical industries are more interested in using medications than in behavior therapy.

You can not simply "affirm" someone's delusional mental state. The latest, greatest trend in the mental health field is to "affirm" rather than to actually TREAT gender incongruence. This DOES NOT take care of the problem. This only reinforces that it is OK to be delusional. Until society as a whole starts to address the mental instability of these whack job people doing the horrific things they do, and stop blaming an inanimate object, nothing is going to get better.

There once was a time when personal responsibility was a real thing. NOW, it seems that there are those that would rather make excuses for the bad actions of these bad actors. There are many of us in the 2A community that have been banging that drum for YEARS. You DO NOT punish the innocent!

I would like to have some sort of compassion for these people that, for whatever reason, can't find peace and happiness with themselves in the manner that God created them. It is getting nearly impossible to not detest this element of society, especially the ones that want to FORCE the rest of us to play along with their dysphoria.

I can only hope that THEY can find Salvation through our Lord before it is too late for them. And that *I* can find a way to deal with my own feelings and thoughts on the subject, through prayer.

This has become an increasingly disturbing trend with this gender dysphoria and its ties to shootings. Plain and simple, they are mentally unstable and delusional. You’re either born with xy chromosomes or xx chromosomes, full stop. This notion that someone “feels” like they want to be someone else is delusional. For anyone to encourage their delusion is outright abuse. Period. I’d love to identify as a billionaire who owns my own private Caribbean island, but guess what? It ain’t fcking real. Why are we, as a society, allowing these sick people to continue their delusions? Daddy, I feel like a girl, I wanna be a girl. No, you’re a boy, period. Then maybe get some professional help for the kid to find the root cause of said dysphoria. My God, what have we become when we let sick people continue their delusions and encourage that? How disturbing is that? Ok, I know I’m preaching to the choir, but sometimes I gotta let loose or else I’ll wind up in a rubber room.

Edit: I wrote this before I read the other comments. I’m glad I’m not alone, lol.

I was a huge fan of Joel Osteen's father John, who got hold of the real gospel some time ago and suffered much for it. I'm not nearly such a fan of the boy, but my wife likes his message and that's ok with me as it echoes my optimism anchored in faith and experience. John Osteen's books can be found on archive.org and I recommend him.

It's said the Lakewood shootist had something about the middle east written on the gun. It reminds me of Woody Guthrie's guitar emblazoned with "This machine kills Fascists". I am not sure that the problem is "Fascists",( albeit I am not a fan of fascism per se, although i ammuch a fan of Wilfried Pareto and his disciples). It seems like everyone is a "Heavy Metal Kid". This machine kills ____(your pet peeve here)____. Maybe just a t-shirt with "This machine kills." is generic enough for me.

For most of us, our innate filtering keeps us out of trouble. I do understand fits of rage. I am deeply thankful to have been called to serve outside of the US of A. I'm not going back to "the States" any time soon, and it seems to be a good thing for me not to live there. Actually the thought of living in the US makes me uncomfortable, and i am not sure how long I'd last there. It doesn't seem it would turn out well.
