Where the feds are concerned, we should all take Nancy Reagan's advice, and "Just say no!"

I have ZERO doubt that the federal government is LYING through thier teeth about the hazards of what is happening in East Palestine, Ohio. There is no way they can keep pushing the "green" narrative while doing next to nothing to clean up this HUMONGOUS MESS they created by BURNING these toxic chemicals.

"The same people who protested the Dakota Access Pipeline six years ago have been notably absent throughout the past four weeks.

The government can run but they can not hide where this one is concerned. There are A LOT of people that are going to hold their feet to the chemical fire on this one.

Let’s rewind time once more a little bit. Who recalls the railroad workers strike that was going to “shutdown” supply. Biden of course got involved and hurried a deal to end the strike.

One of the concerns for the workers is the outdated broken down railcars being used and never really repaired or decommissioned. Not long after we have Palestine.

Now the Biden administration wants their hand in every disaster but mysteriously says this one isn’t bad? The simple fact that residents from multiple towns had to evacuate for this should be enough to say it was.

Now re-read this article.

If you've never read Atlas Shrugged, let me see if I can provide a short summary of that to which I refer:

Government was corrupt and favoring some businesses over others. Railways were the primary transportation, especially for cargo. Big company (railway) execs were (metaphorically) in bed with politicians, shaping policy to favor one railway over another. In the meantime, the favored railway was being horribly mismanaged and poorly maintained, accidents were increasing, goods weren't being delivered, the economy was crashing, and the government continued to issue more and more edicts to enact policy that would benefit government and the favored businesses while the average citizen was suffering poverty. That's a really poor and rough summary (it's quite a long book), but it should give you the picture. Really not a lot different from what we see happening all around us.

If the materials were outlawed, that would be a great question to get answered - why are they on the train?

I don't question whether chemicals need to be transported in this manner - there are few options. But if you've ever read Atlas Shrugged, you'll see disturbing similarities between the state of the rail system and government in the book and in America today.

I would sign, though I don't think it will do much good. Do you believe they would actually tell the truth?

I think the bigger question that needs answered is WHY they handled it. It's a local issue, not federal.
