Solar panels are pretty cool... however they are being used all wrong! Throw a few on a roof, okay. Use them in remote locations. But these "farms" are an absurdity. I drive past many of these on the drive between Minnesota and South Dakota.
Also, the big fly in the ointment is that even if ALL of the people in the US converted to "green" energy, assuming it was efficient, which it is not, and assuming we could cut out all fossil fuels, which we cannot, the US puts out something like the second smallest carbon footprint of all the major countries. Over 3/4 of the carbon output is by everyone else. So, even if we totally removed our countries footprint, it would make very little difference in the big picture anyway. We are by far the most responsible country in this area already. If you wanna make a real difference, you'll have to convince everyone else to do what we are already doing now.
Green energy is a scam. The raw materials for the batteries that store the "power" generated are extremely toxic. Cobalt = carcinogen to the 6th power.
Instead of farming photovoltaic b.s., we should be farming food and fibers.......okay. rant averted. 😁
While I am in complete agreement on the fallacy of these "green energy" sources being the salvation of the environment, when I saw the word "farm" in the title I thought of all of the actual AGRICULTURAL farms that were so severely damaged by HELLene and Milton.
A personal friend who's family owns and apple orchard here in Western North Carolina lost MULTIPLE young trees thanks to HELLene. These trees had just barely began producing fruit that was suitable for more than just juicing. If they are actually usable for food, the price per bushel increases. It takes several YEARS to get a tree to that age. Thus, this storm will cost them THOUSANDS of dollars in lost crops for many years to come.
I am totally on board with what you are saying about tye solar and wind farms. Many of the materials those panels and turbine parts are made from petroleum based plastics. The replacement of those parts DEMANDS more drilling for the EVIL black gold. Many of the climate control nuts don't consider the MORE negative effects of the products needed to keep those systems operational. It's very much the story of the ostrich with its head in the sand.
One other thing these climate freaks don't want to address is that manyof the parts for their green options are made in countries that use slave labor to make them. Yet another issue they want to ignore.
