Nobody likes seeing how the sausage is made, and nobody selling the sausage wants you to see the adulteration taking place, or the lack of hygiene, integrity, purity, etc. Speaking of hygiene, there are no clean hands in this story.
The righteous do not think that the ends justify the means. Until politicians are held accountable to their states, do not make money or accumulate power, nothing will change in our society.
Therein lies the rub, doesn't it? Who will hold anyone in the federal government or the larger bureaucracy of the alphabet agencies accountable? How will they be held accountable? When the agency responsible for prosecuting these crimes is under the control of the same people who control the agency that commits the crimes, what can be done? Of course, I'd argue that the STATES need to assert their authority OVER the federal government and stop all of the abuse, but most governors and state legislatures are just as bad or simply don't realize and understand the hierarchy of authority as laid out by our founding fathers and the documents they penned. I wrote about the Tenth Amendment because, when people hear it, they often immediately think "States' rights," but miss the finer point of it limiting the federal government to the roles and responsibilities explicitly spelled out in the Constitution - roles and responsibilities beyond which the federal government has grown far out of control:

Yes if only we could have a convention is states! Oh we can but we won’t!
Except, with the current governors and legislatures, would a convention of states serve us any better than Congress?
I think that some of the blue states might like to also take back part of their power that has been usurped
